Abstract
Objectives: This study was conducted to understand the dental hygienists' experiences and cost perceptions of scaling.
Methods: From 15 August to 30 September 2021, 217 dental hygienists were surveyed about the dental hygienists' experiences and cost perceptions of scaling. The data were analyzed with frequency analysis, Cross-analysis with spss 26.0 program.
Results: Dental hygienists recognized that the appropriate insurance claim cost was 41,000~60,000 won. As for the perception of co-payment and insurance claim cost according to the experience of dental hygienists performing scaling, the higher the age, the lower the co-payment and insurance claim cost. In response to the appropriate insurance claim cost, the higher the age, the higher the cost.
Conclusions: Reflecting the recognition of dental hygienists who are experts in scaling, should be made in consideration of the number and cost of annual scaling insurance coverage.
